Theme From Drawing to Ceramics – “Reinventing the Landscape”
Dive into an inspiring day of creativity as we explore the theme of landscape through different artistic lenses! This workshop features a special artist talk with Sophie Perez, a talented British-born artist with an MA in Painting from the Royal College of Art. Now based on the Mornington Peninsula, Sophie draws inspiration from her surroundings and everyday life, using paint to reveal the endless possibilities of colour and texture.
Workshop Overview:
In “Reinventing the Landscape” students will explore diverse styles and approaches to interpreting landscapes.
1. Drawing Session:
Begin with a soft dry pastel drawing inspired by the renowned artist Clarice Beckett.
2. Ceramics Session:
Transition into ceramics, where students will model a ceramic relief landscape showcasing foreground, mid ground, and background elements, drawing inspiration from contemporary local Peninsula artists, including Sophie herself.
What to Expect:
Creative Exploration: Immerse yourself in drawing and ceramics while expressing your identity in a supportive and engaging environment.
